Hundred Stitches

This is an ongoing patchwork project under the banner of "embroidery stories", involving school students of select Government and Charity Schools of Assam, India. Every stitch is a beginner's stitch and it has a story to tell. Most students are vulnerable to social issues like alcoholism, child abuse, neglected parents and poverty at home. The beginner stitch will enable them to mend their clothes in the first place, and create something new, also narrate their stories via motifs. Every stitch is a stitch of power, and I intend to make a larger patchwork fabric which will document the personal entries of these young heroes.
